This licence is valid for a maximum of 4999 persons at any one time but the premises may also be subject to a maximum occupancy figure.
Mandatory conditions where licence authorises supply of alcohol
(1) No supply of alcohol may be made under the premises licence-
(a) at a time when there is no designated premises supervisor in respect of the premises licence, or
(b) at a time when the designated premises supervisor does not hold a personal licence or his personal licence is suspended.
(2) Every supply of alcohol under the premises licence must be made or authorised by a person who holds a personal licence.
Mandatory conditions which came into force on 1 October 2010
(1) The premises licence holder or club premises certificate holder shall ensure that an age verification policy applies to the premises in relation to the sale or supply of alcohol.
(2) The policy must require individuals who appear to the responsible person to be under 18 years of age (or such older age as may be specified in the policy) to produce on request, before being served alcohol, identification bearing their photograph, date of birth and a holographic mark.
Conditions Consistent with the Applicant’s Operating Schedule
General
The shop will sell only a small amount of Fairly Traded alcohol for consumption off the premises.
All staff who have charge of the till will be trained in alcohol sales.
The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
The premises will display a sign, clearly visible to any prospective purchaser, containing a warning that it is an offence for any person under the age of 18 years to purchase or attempt to purchase any alcoholic drink and that it is also an offence for any person aged 18 years or over to purchase or attempt to purchase alcoholic drinks for any person under 18 years of age.
A log shall be kept detailing all refused sales of alcohol, including the date and time of the refused sale and the name of the member of staff who refused the sale. The log shall be available for inspection at the premises.
Public Safety
The small supply of alcohol will be kept close to the counter in view of the staff.
The Prevention of Public Nuisance
Outside of the hours authorised for the sale of alcohol, all alcohol within the trading area will be secured behind locked cabinet doors.
The Protection of Children from Harm
A prospective purchaser of alcoholic drinks who appears under the age of 18 years must produce proof of age and identity in one of the following forms :
A photo driving licence
A photo passport.
A recognised proof of age card accredited under the British Retail Consortiums Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS).
