This licence is valid for a maximum of 4999 persons at any one time but the premises may also be subject to a maximum occupancy figure.
Mandatory conditions where licence authorises supply of alcohol
(1) No supply of alcohol may be made under the premises licence-
(a) at a time when there is no designated premises supervisor in respect of the premises licence, or
(b) at a time when the designated premises supervisor does not hold a personal licence or his personal licence is suspended.
(2) Every supply of alcohol under the premises licence must be made or authorised by a person who holds a personal licence.
Conditions agreed with Environmental Health
Music and amplified speech is not to cause a disturbance to nearby residents.
The licensee will ensure that
a) Temporary electrical wiring and distribution systems are not used without prior inspection by a suitable qualified electrician.
b) Temporary electrical wiring and distribution systems shall comply with the recommendations of BS 7671 or where applicable BS 7909
c) Where they have not been installed by a competent person, temporary electrical wiring and distribution systems are to be inspected and certified by a competent person before they are put to use.
d) Entertainment equipment shall be fitted with a 30mAmp RCD (residual current device)
The licensee will ensure that an adequate and appropriate supply of first aid equipment and materials is available on the premises.
Conditions agreed with the Police
No open bottles to be taken from the premises.
Only toughened glass or plastic drinking glasses to be used in the outside seating area.
The licence holder will operate the "Challenge 21" scheme.
The premises plan will clearly show the extent of the licensed area and that which is on the public highway will be surrounded by removeable barriers whilst that area is being traded.
Conditions Consistent with Applicant’s Operating Schedule
General
The licence holder will ensure that the licensing objectives are promoted by them and their staff, and will train all staff in these objectives.
The licence holder and staff will not allow any antisocial behaviour on the premises
The prevention of crime and disorder
The licence holder will work alongside the local beat bobby and report any possible drug or alcohol abuse.
Crime prevention notices will be used.
Opened bottles will not be allowed to be taken off the premises.
Public safety
The licence holder will aim to use plastic glasses or toughened glass where possible when serving customers sitting at outside tables.
Anyone drunk or aggressive will not be served.
The licence holder will ensure that the premises do not become overcrowded as drinking will only be at tables.
First Aid equipment and fire safety equipment will be kept on the premises.
The prevention of public nuisance
The licence holder will report any disruption. The usual opening hours will be until 5pm or 6pm, music will therefore usually be during the day and indoors.
Windows and doors will be kept shut in the event of live music being played.
No alcoholic drinks will be taken away from the café.
The protection of children from harm
The licence holder will arrange for a ‘proof of age’ system to be implemented whereby any customers looking to be under 21 will be required to produce proof of age before being served alcohol.
The licence holder will instruct staff of the legal responsibility to not serve anyone under the age of 18.
